Mark Lerner

Mark S. Lerner is President Emeritus of GOJO. Mark joined GOJO in 1986 as Chief Financial Officer. As President Emeritus, Mark brings his energy for the GOJO Purpose and serves on the GOJO Board of Directors.

Under Mark’s leadership, GOJO became a successful hand hygiene and healthy skin company, renowned for its state-of-the-art innovations and product developments, including the invention of PURELL® Hand Sanitizer. After selling the PURELL® Consumer Brand in 2004, Mark was instrumental in reacquiring the PURELL® brand from Johnson and Johnson in 2010. GOJO then took the product line and expanded it to include new product innovations for schools, healthcare, foodservice, and consumer markets.

Prior to joining GOJO, Mark held various general management and financial executive positions with BFGoodrich for eleven years. Mark is a member of the Cleveland Clinic Board of Directors. In this capacity, he is also Chair of both the Cleveland Clinic Akron General Health System Board of Trustees, and Cleveland Clinic Akron General Foundation. Mark also serves on the Cleveland Clinic Regional Hospitals Board of Directors and the Cleveland Clinic Philanthropy Committee. His prior involvement in the community has been with the Ohio Ballet, the Chamber of Commerce, and MAGNET.

Mark graduated from the University of Akron with an MBA and Rider University with a BS in Commerce. He is married with five children and four grandchildren.
